What is a Cloud account?

From DWS4 a Cloud account is a collection of users and environments.

A free trial account initially has one environment and one user, which is the person that starts the trial, and that first user is given an administrator role.

The account is managed by the administrator, who can invite new users and assign them roles.

An account has a quota, which is the maximum number of pages that can be generated in a calendar month. The account quota can be divided and allocated to any available environments.

Accounts can be used globally and work in all available processing locations.

In this video we will cover the naming of Accounts and Environments and how to use them.

Naming a Docmosis Account (0:10)

If this is your first time using the Docmosis Cloud you will only have one Account. Named “Trial Account”.

You can click on Edit to change the name.

This would usually be your Company or Business Name.

However, it is just a label, so it could be the name of a particular department or the name of an app that is using the account.

If you have, multiple Accounts, from this page you will be able to choose which account you are working in.

Choose a Label that means something to you.

It can be changed again at any-time.

Click on Continue to enter that Account.

Naming a Docmosis Environment (0:49)A Cloud Account is a collection of Environments.

At the start of your trial you will have one Environment named “Trial Environment”.

A Cloud environment is a collection of templates, images and is used when generating documents with those items.

Environments allow you to partition your work into logical groups.

The name “Trial Environment” is just a label.

It can be changed to something that makes sense to you.

For example, that might be Development, if you plan on having Dev Test Prod Environments.

Adding a new Environment (1:25)

Depending on your plan you will have the option to add and name more Environments.

During your free trial you can have up to two Environments When you add an Environment, you will then have to allocate your Account Quota between the different Environments.

In this case we will give Development 1000 pages, and Production 3000 pages. So, all 4000 pages that are available, have been allocated.

The new Production Environment, is a blank environment and, as such, it currently has no templates.

Naming a API Access Key (1:57)

Calls to the Cloud API require an Access Key, to authenticate that an API request is valid.

The Access Key is also used to determine the Environment that should be used when servicing the request.

You can have multiple access keys.

The Access Key name, is also just a label that means something to you.

We recommend setting the Account Name and Environment Name early in your trial, and before you subscribe to a plan.

Thanks for watching.
