Troubleshooting common issues with Zapier.

Why is my template not showing?

Possible Causes

  • Authentication with incorrect access key: If you've authenticated using an Access key meant for a different environment, the template list may not appear.
  • Incorrect processing location: Using the wrong processing location can also lead to this issue

Resolution Steps

  • Verify access key: Ensure that the access key used for authentication corresponds to the desired Cloud environment.
  • Check processing location: Confirm that the processing location selected in Zapier matches the one where your templates are stored.

Why can't I see my desired template in Zapier?

Possible Causes:

  • Recent Upload: If the template was uploaded to Docmosis after the initial authentication in Zapier, it might not show up immediately.
  • Switching Templates: Changing to a newly uploaded template from an older one in the Zap can cause display issues.

Resolution Steps:

  • Refresh Zapier Connection: Exit the current setup in Zapier and re-enter. This refresh can help in updating the template list to include newly uploaded or changed templates.

Why is my output file not being generated?

Possible Causes:

  • Incorrect output name: If the output file name is not correctly specified a document may not be generated.
  • Exceeding environment quota: When an environment quota is set as a hard limit, and the quota is reached, any request for document generation will be denied.

Resolution Steps:

  • Specify file extension: In the output field, you must explicitly add the file extension (eg: .pdf or .docx) for the Zap to function correctly.
  • Adjust quota settings: If the quota limit is the cause, you can either increase the quota or adjust the hard limit settings to allow document generation to proceed.

Why is are the fields output in the generated document incorrect or empty?

Possible Causes:

  • Mapping issues: Incorrect or incomplete mapping of fields in Zapier can lead to empty or incorrect data in the output.

Resolution Steps:

  • Review mappings: Check the mappings in Zapier to ensure that all necessary template fields are correctly linked.
  • Data consistency: Ensure that the data types and formats in the source match those expected in the Docmosis template.

What should I do if there are errors in the template?

Possible Causes:

  • Errors in syntax: Incorrect or incomplete placeholders, can cause errors in templates and lead to failure of document generation.

Resolution Steps:

  • Look for error notification in console: When uploading a template, pay attention to any error notifications in the Docmosis console.
  • Render using development mode: By rendering the template with development mode enabled, the generated document will contain error messages, that can help to identify and rectify issues within the template.
