Cover Letter Template for Document Generation

A cover letter included in a response to a request for information.

The letter provides a hyperlink to a downloadable PDF report.

It uses the handy <<op: feature for optional lines in the letter’s address block.

The layout is simple but effective with a right-justified company logo in the header, customized color bullets to itemize important information in the main section, and a left-justified disclaimer and company details in the footer.

This example in detail

This example letter uses plain-text placeholders, the optional <<op: paragraph feature and a hyperlink.

Using hyperlinks

Electronically sent letters and reports can include hyperlinks to PDF files accessible from the Internet.

In this letter template, the hyperlink syntax: <<link:report>>, results in the clickable text, Life Insurance Comparison Report in the output letter and links to the URL, https://exagioinsurance.com/ComparisonReport.pdf

Note: In the Word template, there’s a need to modify the font color for the Hyperlink style from its default blue color to black.  This will ensure the hyperlink text displays in black in the output letter.
